Sousuke Yamazaki Yeah those are gone. Sousuke Yamazaki For some reason? I'm not sure, I wasn't here for when that happened. Sousuke Yamazaki But at this point you better start believing in the unbelievable because that's what is going to keep happening. Constantly.
Sousuke Yamazaki Kinda hoping I'll get to talk to an actual mermaid soon. Sousuke Yamazaki Yup. I've met a few people, actually, a few actually know of me vaguely because they've come to the shop once or twice. Sousuke Yamazaki It's fun.

Li-Na Yiu Yes,

the idea of a rotating menu. That way you can try different dishes more
often.

[ WHATEVER, OKAY... HE WAS BORN YESTERDAY. LISTEN.
But he's going to just give her his hand and stay still, sitting on the bench with an evident slouch. His eyes look over her work and of course he makes a small comment: ] Make it pretty, boss.
We're already busy figuring out what we'll have for our fall specials. Free time he's watching his game shows, recently he's started cycling... and I think he said something about wanting to get a pet.
[ Why? He's not even entirely sure. ]
I bet he's joking, though, because he said it'd be like an iguana.
[ And other than the obvious: ] How have you been?
Don't tell him that. Next thing I know I come back home and it's waiting for me in my bed.
[ He'll die. ]
That's unfortunate. [ Though it doesn't sound like it he actually does show a mild sense of concern, which can be shown in the slight twitch of his fingers and a small glance. But if she doesn't speak of first he doesn't bother to pry, that's someone else's job. ]
And how's that going? Any bratty kids get on your nerves trying to get free tokens or something?
[ Childishly, he feels a rush of adrenaline and excitement course through his veins and there's just something so damn refreshing about it. Mafuyu may be blind to the appreciation Sousuke harbors towards her for following through with this so easily. It's not a new sensation, per se, but it's still nice.
He has a clear idea of leading them to the restaurant, a nice little knock of two birds with one stone, and fortunately it's not far. ]
[ Mafuyu raises her voice at the taunt— she's a lot like Eijun in this regard, loud for how it empowers her without regard for saving her strength and breath for running and breathing.
Streets are easier to run on, too, the sparse crowd slowing Sousuke in that they have to part before he can pass, but they press themselves against buildings or step out into the gutter when they hear Mafuyu's incoming yells and footfalls as she runs after him. Like this, she can catch up, eyes on nothing else, be it pedestrian or automobile, aside from Sousuke's back, each step bringing her closer, closer, closer. ]
[ There's moments of pause where Sousuke has to pick the pace immediately after: dodging couples that refuse to part, random passerby's, and even someone who decided that cycling on the sidewalk is a good idea. But his blood is pumping, heart racing, and the excitement and challenge of it all makes brings an all too evident smile on his face. If it were a straight line it would remind him of being on the field, aiming for the first plate after a shitty hit, but—
... But?
"Keep up, Rin!"
"You cheated! You started before I was ready!"
It's like time stops, his body going sluggish as his mind is suddenly overwhelmed with what can only be another memory. A street he's never seen before, the sun shining perfectly as he looks over his shoulder and sees a younger version of Rin tailing behind him. Bright, energetic, before he's looking forward again to see a building.
"If you can't beat on land then you definitely can't beat me in the water!"
Because that makes sense.
But now's not the time for Sousuke to be sarcastic with his past self. He's has slowed down enough for Mafuyu to catch him, and to be perfectly honest he's ready to let this game be over and done with. ]
[ Mafuyu notices that slow and doesn't relent, slamming into Sousuke's back at full force without slowing down at all in case it were a trick into letting her guard down. ]
—tag! TAG!! [ slaps both hands down on his back, multiple times, until he acknowledges that she won ] I caught you!
I hear you, I hear you! [ There's only a hint of irritation in his voice, nothing too serious as he turns to face her. ] Mm, I guess you did an alright job keeping up.
Wasn't I Jack? [ He's caught onto that. But then again they were switching between Rose and Jack and some royal prince and princess that were forced to separate. It's honestly so confusing at this point that being referred to as her horse isn't even surprising.
Well it's kind of surprising.
With furrowed brows he lifts her up, hands tucking underneath her knees and holding her in place. She's as light as he can remember and so traveling to the rides is nothing, and since she's not putting weight onto his shoulder none of it actually hurts. ]
One day you're gonna have to pay me back for carrying you around this much.
[ Not with helping his card, obviously, but something else... a piggyback of his own. He'd kill her. Relationship over. ]
No one said Jack couldn't also be a horse. [ except, if jack was a horse. the whole plot of titanic would be pretty ... different.
maybe he could be a centaur? wasn't that sort of in, anyway? regardless, she actually shouldn't be rationalizing this, and so she simply opts not to. she supposed that was the beautiful thing about convenience.

Should I try and carry you next? [ sousuke's ass is busted before he even gets on the kiddy ride. ]
I'm pretty sure they'd never want Jack to be a horse.
[ This is just... facts... no one would want that. ]
With like, actual money. [ She can be as suggestive and vague as she wants, Sousuke already has an idea (nothing, it's absolutely nothing because he's just playing around) of what to ask for. Her idea, however, proves humorous because it manages to get a laugh of him. ] Maybe you've got superhuman strength, it's bad to judge a book by its cover.

Right, then I'll take the horse.
